This autumn, the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) celebrates its 20th anniversary and makes an impressive statement with a new festival center at Sechseläutenplatz. In collaboration with VierD, Aroma has reimagined the heart of the festival – a milestone that brings the audience closer to the stars and impresses with its use of sustainable materials.
The new festival center is more than just a venue; it embodies the soul and identity of the ZFF. With its distinctive signature look and a large presence on 1,275 square meters, the center was built using modular wooden construction. This design allows for the use of different zones and terraces with views of the Green Carpet, the Opera House, and the lake. The materiality and warmth of the wooden structure and facades create an inviting and lively meeting place with a unique atmosphere.
Sustainability is at the heart of the new festival center. Aroma and VierD, specialists in temporary wooden structures, placed great emphasis on using sustainable materials and ensuring long-term usability in the planning and implementation. By utilizing local resources, environmental impact is minimized, and the local economy is supported. The center is also designed to be fully accessible, allowing unrestricted access for all visitors.
