The creative agency Aroma is providing strategic and conceptual support for the Muni Max construction project at ESAF 2025.
With HolzvisionMAX, a unique initiative of the Swiss forestry and timber industry is being created—cross-sector, practice-oriented, and future-focused. At its heart is Muni Max, a wooden structure over 21 meters tall, which will be presented to the public for the first time at the Federal Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival 2025 in Mollis. As a long-standing partner of the initiative, Aroma has been actively and voluntarily involved in the core team since the beginning of the project—contributing strategic, creative, and organizational expertise.
A structure that connects
Muni Max is the first construction project realized across the entire timber value chain—from forest management to sawmills, trade, transport, and processing, all the way to planning and construction. More than 220 Swiss companies and institutions are committed to a common cause: the renewable raw material wood—a resource from Switzerland. Muni Max, an iconic structure made of 100% Swiss wood, stands as a symbol of a regionally interconnected forestry and timber industry.
Training for the Future
What makes Muni Max special is not only its scale, but also the way it is being built: more than 500 apprentices are actively involved in the project—from planning and production to assembly. Using by-products of timber production, joineries created the interiors for the gift temple and the wrestling bar. The livestock prize stall was also built entirely from available wood. The design concepts were developed by students at the ibW Höhere Fachschule Südostschweiz. In this way, Muni Max becomes the centerpiece of a vibrant “Muni Village,” opening up new perspectives for young talent and powerfully demonstrating how regional wood, professional excellence, and shared responsibility build the future.
Commitment to a Common Goal
The project thrives on the dedication of numerous partners from business and education. Since the beginning, Aroma has been actively and voluntarily involved in the core team. For the company, this commitment is far more than just a project—it is a lived conviction. “As a creative agency with its own carpentry workshop, we not only understand the potential of wood as a material, but also the responsibility that comes with sustainable sourcing and processing,” says Lukas Baumgartner, Managing Director of Aroma Productions.
A Project with Vision
At 21.3 meters tall and weighing over 180 tons, Muni Max is an impressive landmark. The structure consists of 437 preassembled elements, composed of more than 4,400 individual parts. To keep track of the organization, a prototype online platform was developed, enabling every single component to be traced through all process stages—from round timber in the forest to preassembled element on the construction site. It connects planning, resources, logistics, and production in one innovative system. After a successful real-world test, the platform is now being further developed—with the goal of enabling future construction projects to be implemented efficiently, sustainably, and collaboratively.
The raising of the structure in Mollis began on August 4, 2025, marking an important milestone for the project and for the entire forestry and timber industry.
Aroma is proud to be part of this joint project—for wood, for education, for the future.
